SG Footwear (S. Goldberg & Co., Inc.) was established in 1896 by Sam Goldberg. The family-owned, privately held company is about to pass to the fourth generation in the Goldberg family.

SG Footwear, one of the world's largest suppliers of slippers, manufactured its slippers domestically until a few years ago. The company expanded operations and began manufacturing in other parts of the world (Asia and Europe), building its product lines to include footwear of all types for preschoolers to adults.

The company has also expanded its products and distribution through acquisitions. In 1998 it acquired an interest in Labat Group S.A. and expanded products and distribution in Europe. In 2002 SG Footwear acquired The Messer Group, a leading marketer of slippers and beachwear to department and mid-tier stores.

Today the company markets a full range of footwear products and is a leader in licensed character footwear, and dominates a number of key footwear categories and consumer demographics.

In January of 2006, S.Goldberg Co. Inc., announced the launch of SGI Apparel Group. SGI Apparel launched its initial sleepwear collection in fall 2006. In a short period of time, SGI apparel has penetrated key retailers and acquired several well established brands.

Products are marketed throughout North America, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia.

In 1998, SG Footwear acquired a minority interest in the Labat Group S.A. (formerly Pagoda Europe), which provides the company with a marketing, sales, and distribution network throughout Europe, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.

The company is also a leading licensed footwear marketer in Latin America. The Spanish-speaking manager of our export team has over 30 years of experience in footwear sales and concentrates on sales to distributors in Latin America.

The company's products are sold in all distribution channels: Mass Market, Food & Drug Stores, Regional Retailers, Specialty Stores, and Department Stores.

Our in-house sales force of 12-15 sales people is augmented with 2 shoe rep organizations, which are monitored by senior executives. Our in-house sales force consists of well-known industry professionals who have substantial experience and contacts within the footwear industry.

SG Footwear stocks shoes to insure timely retail replenishment. SG Footwear can distribute over 8 million pairs of footwear monthly.

In the U.S., our products are shipped directly to retail locations or to central distribution locations as requested by retailers. Our products are shipped either from our warehouses in New Jersey or FOB direct to retailers from Asia.

In other parts of the world (Canada, Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia), our products are distributed through a network of company interests and agreements with various distributors.
